Happy International Women’s Day! This is a great opportunity to celebrate all of the women that we love and admire.
It’s a great chance to be thankful for them and for ourselves, and for the lives that we’ve got.
Which women do you love and admire? And why? Tell them.
Which women inspire you? What is it about them? How can you channel more of that, and bring more of it into your own life? Seeing them rock it shows that it’s possible for you too.
And how can you celebrate yourself more? What is great about you, that perhaps you overlook or forget to see and appreciate about yourself?
We find it easy to notice the good in others, but sometimes find it harder to see it in ourselves. We give ourselves a hard time and can be the first to judge or beat ourselves up. So let’s up the self-compassion.
Think of the positive things that people have told you about yourself, and really let it soak in. Take a moment to appreciate all that you are, and the journey you’ve been on. If someone gives you a compliment believe them.
What are the things you most appreciate about yourself?
What do you love about being a woman?
We have all got scars, some seen and some unseen. We have all been through painful and difficult experiences. But we are here to tell the tale. Our scars are part of our story, and have helped shape us into who we are. We wouldn’t be the women we are without them.
As Helen Mirren said recently, we are all on a journey from self-doubt to self-worth, and it never ends. This can be the beauty of getting older and deepening into ourselves.
There is only one of you, and there will only ever be one of you. Own that and celebrate it, in yourself and in the women around you – today and going forwards.
With love,
